Houston Llew Spiritiles

For the uninitiated, every Spiritile is handcrafted in Atlanta, USA from American made copper, glass and wood. Finely ground colored glass is handpainted on copper, then fired by kiln at 1500 degrees. It’s like drawing with sand, Houston says, then toasting it on a very hot fire. Spiritiles visually share the brilliant moments that make up your unique story. As gifts, they share brilliant moments with the people you love. They can wall hang or stand alone, and will never fade or tarnish.

Beautiful molten glass fired on copper and wrapped around wood, the true gift of Spiritiles lie not only in the detailed and shimmering glass images, but also in the stories written on the sides. There is always a Spiritile that resonates and there is always someone who comes to mind when you pick one up and read it. Everyone loves a good story….

“They’re about positivity,” Houston says. The stories on Spiritiles golden sides are especially selected to capture the enlightened moment. Take a look at The Way Home. “We cannot light another’s path without brightening our own,” says Ben Sweetland accompanied a majestic seaside lighthouse. Or hear Wallace Stevens echo on the waves on No. 065, “Perhaps the truth is found in a walk on the beach.” In red high heels, Marilyn Monroe reminds us on Ms. … if we “give a girl the right shoes, she can conquer the world.” Rarely will you find a “no, “don’t” or other negative on a Spiritile. That the stories remain upward bound is one of the most important aspects to Houston.
