Mr. Reade contacted us recently about having a custom size clock made. Our response was the same as it always was, “no problem, we can customize Sticks Furniture any way you want including changes to the overall size or construction as well as the colors, designs and words used.”
It was his next request that made things interesting. You see, Mr. Reade had an existing storage cabinet that used to have a clock at the top. The non-functional clock had long been removed with the intention of replacing. They just never really found the right thing that could be placed in such an exact opening. That is, until they discovered Sticks.
We started with having him send us a photo of the existing cabinet so we could get a feel for what was needed. Then, we asked him to take a look through the standard Sticks Wall Clocks to hone in on what clock he liked the feel of. He quickly let us know that he really liked Sticks Clock 2909. Perfect, all we needed to do was to drop the “topper” on the clock and build a version to the exact size of the opening. It was made with an extra lip to be hidden behind the molding in the cabinet that was also designed to hold the clock in snuggly. We presented Mr. Reade with the following drawing so he could verify the measurements.
