Seeking the Perfect Piece – A Custom David Marsh Story

A few months ago, we received the following e-mail from a Debbie who had been all over the place seeking the perfect storage piece. “My husband and I were in the Savage Mill Store recently. After returning home, I decided that although I loved the Yellow Alfalfa Cabinet, I really didn’t have any place for it. So, I’ve been mulling over another idea, and want to see what you think:

I would like to inquire about the possibility of having a cabinet made for our bedroom approximately 54″W x 42″H x 18″D. I’d like to duplicate the look of the Rustica bookcase we saw in your store that day (pictured left).

I want to use the cabinet to store folded sweaters, linens, etc. so as large an opening as possible, is ideal. I would also like to have a row of three small drawers across the top; they only need to be about 4″ deep. I’d like for the sides of the cabinet, the doors, and the draw fronts to be the same as the slats in the photos. I’d prefer that the doors and drawers close flush, i.e., not have bevelled edges. I love the boxed-in base and crown moulding top of the bookcase in the photos, and would like for our cabinet to have similar features (but not the same artistic designs/paint colors).”

David Marsh is an expert cabinet maker. We knew if we could come up with the right design, that would fit her needs perfectly, that David could build it. So, our expert designers got to work and presented Debbie with a design drawing to review. With careful communication back and forth regarding exact sizes, style and color elements, this is what she settled on:David Marsh Custom Cabinet Perfect Piece

About 6 weeks later, this gorgeous custom made David Marsh cabinet arrived. Check it out!
