About a year ago we helped the Tillman Family @Arcraft with a custom David Marsh Sofa Table for their small but beautiful DC area apartment. They had been searching for just the right piece as a narrow entryway table. But everything they looked at in the traditional furniture stores was either too deep or just didn’t have the right look for their artistic abode. Needless to say, they were thrilled to stumble across David Marsh’s work at Artcraft. David’s artistic style was just what they’d been looking for. But, the table they loved was still too deep for their space. This is what’s so great about working with American Artisans. David had no problem building them a special table that worked just for their space.
When the Tillman’s decided to remodel their bedroom recently, the search for the perfect piece was much less elusive. They came right to Artcraft with some ideas for their next custom piece. They wanted a large piece that would serve as both a dresser and a TV stand. After browsing our David Marsh Catalog, the Tillman’s found the perfect piece for their space….almost: David’s Chester Dresser.
But, there was a problem. They wanted a version of this piece made to cover a 7 1/2 foot long wall in their room. We knew designing and building a piece this long would be no problem. However, our expert staff also knew that there was no way a piece this size would fit into their bedroom due to their small hallways & doors. We developed a plan where we could have the piece built in 3 sections. When placed together, the 3 sections went together to form a seamless Dresser/Entertainment center that fit their needs perfectly. Here’s the concept we developed for the Tillman’s. You’ll notice that we worked with them to tweak the colors and design elements from the original dresser idea they brought to us:

The delivery company had no issues getting the smaller pieces into their space and Mr. Tillman followed up to let us know: “They look great and fit just as we hope they would. The shelf in the middle piece also was done in a nifty way with purple trim that we did not expect. Thanks for your solid advice in this process.”
