Everyday on her walk in National Harbor, Molly the Golden Retriever can’t resist pulling her owner into our store. Molly, you see, knows that we have doggie treats right at the counter for her – and all of our other furry visitors. She’ll rush right in, put her paws up on the counter, and wait patiently to gobble up a delicious doggie snack. Molly isn’t the only four legged regular passing through our store of course: we have so many pups pass through daily that it is a running joke to start a Artcraft doggie daycare. Sigh… if only.
@Artcraft, we’ve noticed our regular furry friends often resemble their respective two legged companions, and vice versa. There have been studies from California to England on whether this observation of dog to owner look-a-likes was at all accurate. Within the studies the results showed that the majority of the participants chose the correct dog pictures to owner pictures more often than not.
So with that in mind we’ve put together our version of doggie to owner look-a-likes, but with a twist.
In this fun gallery, we included other various furry friends as well, and instead of owners we compared them to Rich Kolb’s Yardbirds sculptures. Yardbirds, based in Kentucky, are made of up-cycled materials such as garden tools, car parts, farm implements, bicycle parts, and mufflers – pretty much anything metal. We are amazed by Rich’s ability to capture emotion within his animal pieces.
